The Best Buddies Friendship Walk is the number one walk in the country raising awareness and funds to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). BBFW plays a key role in funding Best Buddies programs dedicated to one-to-one friendships, leadership development, and integrated job opportunities for people with IDD. Each walk in 50 different communities throughout the country provides an opportunity to see our mission in action at a local level.
The BBFW Indianapolis will take place in Celebration Plaza at White River State Park on Sunday, April 22nd. Over 2000 people are expected at this celebration of inclusion. Registration/Check-in for walkers begins at 8:30. Opening Ceremonies will begin at 10am, with a 2 mile walk immediately following. As participants return to Celebration Plaza from the walk, they will be greeted by music, food and activities, with award presentations.
Volunteers are needed to greet and direct walkers in the celebration area and walk course, assist with registration, entertainment and food areas, and clean up. Volunteers will receive a free volunteer event t-shirt.
