For students who have completed 6th through 12th grade:
Safety Town is a week-long, educational program geared toward children ages 4-9. As a Safety Buddy volunteer, you will work with a group of 3-4 students under the direction of a classroom teacher. The daily tasks include, assisting students with classroom activities and crafts, guiding students walking and riding pedal cars on the mini Safety Town, and participating with students during guest presentations.
2018 Session Dates (all sessions will be held at Elmore Elementary in Green Bay):
Week 1: June 18-22
Week 2: June 25-29
Week 3: July 9-13
Week 4: July 16-20
Week 5: July 23-27
Safety Town runs from 8:30-11:30 am, Monday through Friday. Volunteers need to be available for the full 3 hours of all 5 days of the week(s) and will need to arrive at least 15 minutes before the children to receive instructions for the day. Being a Safety Buddy at Safety Town is a very important job and is also a lot of fun! If you are interested in volunteering, please fill out the form at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/YXNRB65

Mission Statement
For 26 years, the Center for Childhood Safety has been a "vaccine" against accidental childhood injury. As the lead agency of Safe Kids Greater Green Bay, CCS's mission is to be the leading source of safety education and programming in Northeast Wisconsin, dedicated to preventing and eliminating childhood injury.
Description
Each year more than 6.5 million young people are injured severely enough to land in a hospital emergency room, many with life-altering consequences. Yet, an astounding 90% of these could have been avoided through education and prevention measures like those offered through the Center for Childhood Safety (CCS). CCS has four key programs focused on areas of injury prevention which include: child passenger safety, bike safety, safe sleep, and an all encompassing summer camp called Safety Town for children ages 4-9 years old to attend. These programs focus on providing families and children with the education and resources needed to keep kids safe and free from injury.
