From April 1-30 each year, Virginia Beach CASA runs a 30-day awareness-raising campaign. During this time, sponsors and donors place special Blue and Silver Pinwheels (provided by Virginia Beach CASA) at locations of choice throughout the community, allowing for a strong and unified message. Side by side, local community volunteers and leaders plant pinwheels on the lawn of the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court to represent the number of children served by Virginia Beach CASA over the years.
To coincide with this month long campaign, Virginia Beach CASA hosts "Pinwheel Palooza". This event is FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.Pinwheel Palooza kicks off with a special welcome and ceremonial planting of pinwheels, followed by FUN for kids of all ages including activities and crafts, a petting zoo, face painting, crafts, character appearances, pinwheel planting, performances by local youth groups and entertainers and more!
VB CASA is specifically looking for volunteers to help plant pinwheels outside the Courthouse on Wednesday, March 28 and Thursday, March 29 as well as volunteers to help with our Pinwheel Palooza, Saturday, April 28. We will need help with set up, kids fitness course, event logistics and tear down.
