Mustard Seed Ranch is a nonprofit organization that provides free therapeutic services to youth struggling with mental health or a history of abuse, trauma, or neglect. By connecting with their horses, these youth are then able to open themselves up to maintaining healthy relationships with others in their life. While at Mustard Seed Ranch, they learn care and responsibility for their animal through skills such as grooming, leading, exercising, and riding.
The role of the mentor is extremely vital to our process. As a mentor, you become a member of our group and help individuals with horse handling and care, as well as connecting with them through conversation and attention.
Our program operates Monday through Friday, 9:00-5:00. Each group is scheduled for a 2 hour session, during their respective time each week. Mentors are expected to come approximately 30 minutes prior to the session and stay approximately 30 minutes afterwards to debrief as a team.
We would love to have you join our wonderful program!
