Design House is currently looking for volunteers to help ensure this is a successful fundraiser for the Shelter for Help in Emergency!
Every other year, a Charlottesville-area homeowner opens their heart and generously extends the use of her or his residence for the Shelter for Help in Emergency’s signature fundraising event-Design House. Designers and their vendors, assigned to individual rooms and spaces, showcase their talents and the latest interior design styles and techniques. The result is a unique tour for visitors, where each room reflects a designer’s creative vision and provides endless and inspiring ideas for the home. Ticket sales for the event go directly to helping local victims of domestic violence and their families.
About 25 volunteers are needed each day of the Design House event to ensure that the event runs smoothly and functions as the best fundraiser possible. Event volunteers perform a number of critical roles such as shuttling passengers between parking and the event, selling on-site tickets, ensuring excellent customer service in our boutique and café, and offering guests information on the interior designs, home, and the Shelter for Help in Emergency. Being an event volunteer is an amazing chance to tour the house for free, learn more about interior design, and provide help to victims of domestic violence in our community.
