Have fun, do good, and get involved! Join us in Cascade View Park for a fun morning of helping the forest and this great neighborhood space. We’ll be removing invasive weeds to make room for trees and native plants to thrive.

This event has something for everyone: roll up your sleeves and get some exercise, relax from the bustle of your daily grind by spending time under the park’s big trees, feel good knowing you’re helping to care for this tucked-away neighborhood gem for the community to enjoy, spend quality time volunteering with friends or family, meet new neighbors, and help keep our environment healthy.

Redmond’s beautiful local parks have so much to offer, but they need your help too!

Volunteers of all ages and experience levels welcome. Students and adults can earn service hours. We provide gloves, tools, training and light refreshments. Friends and family members are welcome but please RSVP by emailing greenredmond@forterra.org for all members of your party to help us plan a great event!

Mission Statement

Forterra's mission is to act with immediacy to protect, enhance and steward our region's most precious resources--its communities and its landscapes. Since 1989, we have been working toward a future in which our children and grandchildren can experience nature in and around our urban environments.

Description

Forterra conserves land by working with individuals, companies and local governments. We strive to maximize the ecological value of land, while meeting the needs of landowners. We may accept land as a donation, purchase it, or transfer it to public ownership. We often serve as a broker to identify and negotiate the most effective ownership to protect important lands. We establish conservation easements to preserve special features. For each and every property, we explore available strategies or create new ones to provide permanent protection. Forterra has established a Conservation Agenda for our region, with specific priorities and methods for each type of landscape. Current initiatives include the protection of working forests on the foothills of the Cascades, and the creation of salmon sanctuaries along our region's highest quality rivers and streams.
