My name is Mike Del Vecchio and I am the Volunteer Coordinator at MetroWest Hospice. MWH volunteers enjoy creating beautiful Chart-A-Life posters for our Dementia and Alzheimer's patients. If you are artsy then I am looking for you!
This poster, a "Chart-A-Life", will depict our patients life through pictures, words and items. A Chart-A-Life is a visual way of reminding family, friends, and facility caregivers that even though the patient may not be able to tell her/his story, the story still lives on. Our patient will also benefit from memory stimulation when viewing the Chart-A-Life poster side by side with a hospice volunteer.

Description
Our Volunteers work side-by-side with the professional staff to provide patient and family support. As a friend who pledges to be with them through the uncertainties of the weeks ahead, hospice volunteers offer patients and families a listening ear, a hand to hold, and the presence of a caring heart. Services offered by the hospice volunteers are as varied as the needs of the patients and families. All hospice volunteers receive specialized training by me before assignment to patients and families. There is no area of hospice where the expertise and enthusiasm of the volunteer is not a valuable asset.
