English as a Second Language instructor for Job Seekers

The Alameda County Library’s Education and Literacy Services is searching for an instructor position with experience in a multi-level Vocational ESL for beginning-intermediate English learners. The learner’s goal is to improve their work-related English and/or prepare for a job search.

Classes will be held for 2 hours. twice per week in the evenings from 6 - 8 PM at Newark Public Library, 6300 Civic Terrace Ave., Newark 94560

There are 11 prospective adult learners waiting for an experienced, dynamic and responsible instructor to help them with work-related English and conversation practice.

Text, workbook and curriculum materials, copying, and supplies are provided. The class is free to participants. Funding is available for expenses.

Free Adult Tutoring

The Adult Education and Literacy Services offers small learning group instruction, including reading clubs, beginning English classes, citizenship classes, Job Seeking clinics, basic computer skills labs, high school diploma completion and individual tutoring at the Alameda County Library branches in Fremont, Newark, Union City, San Lorenzo, Castro Valley, Ashland Area, Dublin, and Albany, and at several community locations such as housing apartment complexes, community centers, and non-profits organizations.
