What is SYNGAP1?
A mutation in the gene SYNGAP1 results in intellectual disability ranging from moderate to severe. There can be associated attention deficits, impulsivity, and/or mood disorders. In addition, 70% - 80% of the children have some form of epilepsy. In recent findings SYNGAP1 has been linked to autism. It is currently unknown how many individuals have been diagnosed with autism that could lead to a potential underestimate of the number of SYNGAP1 individuals.
Why we are raising funds:
Our organization is currently raising funds for several programs that will help move to drive research and accelerate to treatments caused by the detrimental effects caused by SYNGAP1 mutations. We are currently preparing for the First International SYNGAP1 Conference to be held at Florida Scripps Research Institute on November 26 -28, 2018. The second project is to support the SYNGAP1 Education Family Meetups.
Our Fundraising Goal: $50,000 (or more)
We would like volunteers to achieve the goal of finding 1 sponsor or a golf team (4 People) and 2 Silent Auction items.
Opportunities for Sponsors:
*Title Sponsor
*18 Hole Sponsors
*25 - 35 Silent Auction Items Total
*2 Beverage Cart Sponsor
