Our donation based Hope Closet is a place where our clients can go to get women’s and children’s clothing, home goods, shoes and accessories.
We are in need of a volunteer who can help us organize, maintain and sort through our donations. Volunteer must be able to assist clients to find certain items that fit their needs, and keep track of current closet inventory.
Volunteer Commitment: 2 shifts per month between the hours of 9 A.M. -4 P.M, Monday through Friday.

Description
The YWCA has long advocated for the health and safety of women and girls. YWCA organizations throughout the country are the largest providers of domestic violence shelters and services in the country, serving over 500,000 women and children annually.
Violence against women can take many forms, including domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence and stalking. These crimes impact millions of individuals and families in every community in our nation. YWCAs around the country provide a variety of services and programs to address violence against women, ranging from emergency shelters, support groups and crisis hotlines.
YWCA Glendale offers:

- A Domestic Violence Service Center that offers counseling, resources, referrals and childcare. The Legal Department represents women in family courts and immigration matters.
- The Sunrise Village Emergency Shelter Program provides a 45-day safe-haven for women and children. Services include meals, housing, counseling and social services; a children’s counseling program, legal advocacy, case management, housing assistance, employment, education, healthcare and childcare.
- Programs for children who have suffered from domestic violence.
