Summary of Responsibilities:
- Assist TIZ WFD team with special projects, as needed
- Maintain accurate data around workforce development efforts
- Attend required trainings or meetings as required
Administration
- Manage receptionist desk
- Greet persons who enter the center and direct traffic, as needed
- Answer and manage reception desk phone; ensuring voicemails are retrieved regularly
- Ensure programmatic documents are maintained and accurate
- Ensure conference room is properly maintained and organized
Community Outreach
- Research job opportunities
- Assist WFD Manager with Employer follow-up
- Coordinate hiring events to be hosted at LCF Community Centers
- Attend hiring events to develop job leads and potential partnerships
- Send job opportunities to TIZ participants and alumni via community outreach distribution lists
- Mentor TIZ participants on job expectations
Job Development
- Research job opportunities
- Assist WFD Manager with Employer follow-up

- Occasionally mentor TIZ participants on computer skills
Workforce Development
- Provide subject matter tutoring in writing, math, or computer skills
- Provide job coaching to participants
- Provide recommendations for workshops and trainings based on interactions with participants

Living Classrooms Foundation is a non-profit organization, operated for the benefit of the community at large, providing hands-on education and job skills training for students from diverse backgrounds, with a special emphasis on serving at-risk youth.
Description
The Foundation uses maritime settings, community revitalization projects and other challenging learning environments, and a low staff to student ratio. Our "learning by doing" education programs emphasize the applied learning of math, science, literacy, history, economics, and ecology. Key objectives of all Living Classrooms programs are career development, community service, elevating self-esteem, and fostering multicultural exchange.
