Screenwriter for exciting screenplays by nonprofit with all proceeds to fight modern-day slavery

ORGANIZATION: The Daily Source

We are an innovative nonprofit creating exciting new projects to help people in great need. We have come up with three great concepts for movies related to social consciousness, and one for a TV series. Two of the movies relate to slavery along the lines of 12 Years a Slave and Amistad. One of them has good potential to be even bigger than those.

We are creating screenplays of them with all proceeds going to fight modern-day slavery. We have connections with a few high-level people in the film industry including a co-president of Amblin Entertainment (which was formerly named Dreamworks) who works directly with Steven Spielberg, the owner of the company.

We also have other connections in the field that make us highly confident we will get the scripts in front of decision-makers. As part of our nonprofit work, we are creating the following website to free some of the world's 25 million modern-day slaves. This is an early draft of the site with an introductory video we wrote and created:

http://www.virtualrailroad.org

After the above site is done, we will do others such as: http://bit.do/Freeathon, http://bit.do/seeourslaves and http://bit.do/EmancipationProclamation. Each will be at its own domain that corresponds with its name. For example, Freeathon.org.

Besides our portion of proceeds going to fight modern-day slavery, we are going to push to have a statement about modern-day slavery show near the start of the credits with a link to a website where people have multiple options to take action.

One of the movies is set in the modern-day South and is a comedic inspirational drama about the battle to overcome racism, and the generational gap between aging racists and young people who are more open-minded.

The core plot has interesting, interwoven plot lines and themes. We are also open to plot changes. We can't post details of the slavery era movies in this listing because it would give too much of the ideas away.

We are looking for two screenwriters to do one or more of the following:

* Write treatments for one or two of the concepts, and review the treatments of the other concepts.

* Write a screenplay for one of them

* Review and edit one of the screenplays after they're written

If you're able to do one of the above and not the others, we can still consider you for this role.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to bring the highest quality news from hundreds of sources across the Internet to the public in one place on a daily basis.

Description

We are a 21st-century news site bringing the public top quality stories, columns, editorials, photos, videos, audio, live chats and more. We are an IRS-approved 501(c)3 charitable nonprofit organization. Our site aims to be an important contributor in solving the problems facing our country and world by becoming the central resource on the Internet for intelligent, factual and accurate reporting. Whereas almost all publications rely on a small under-trained staff to produce a small number of stories of inconsistent quality, The DailySource chooses from all stories on the Internet. We present the public with high caliber information, news and analysis that has been chosen from over a thousand publications and is centralized in one site. The information people read is at the heart of improving the world. The site is designed to give the public the information they need to make solid decisions about what policies to support, to become more aware of key trends affecting the world, to find spiritual, recreational and cultural opportunities for themselves, to choose how to best spend their money, to learn about beneficial health news and more. The Internet is fast becoming the leading place for people to get their news. Come be on the cutting edge of it with us.
