Food Literacy Center

Ever wanted to help kids in the community learn about healthy eating? Ever wanted to dress up as a vegetable or participate in other fennel fun food activities? Join our tomatillo team! Our mission is to inspire kids to eat their vegetables. We teach low-income elementary children cooking and nutrition to improve our health, community, and environment. We currently teach food literacy in 10 after-school programs throughout the Sacramento area. Program typically runs on Monday-Thursday around 1:30-6:00 PM (depending on the school).

After you submit an application, we will send you an email with the daikon details on how to sign up for volunteer opportunities on our website.
