Ever wanted to help kids in the community learn about healthy eating? Ever wanted to dress up as a vegetable or participate in other fennel fun food activities? Join our tomatillo team! Our mission is to inspire kids to eat their vegetables. We teach low-income elementary children cooking and nutrition to improve our health, community, and environment. We currently teach food literacy in 10 after-school programs throughout the Sacramento area. Program typically runs on Monday-Thursday around 1:30-6:00 PM (depending on the school).

Food Literacy Center is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) established in 2011 in Sacramento, California, with the mission of inspiring kids to eat their vegetables. The organization provides cooking and nutrition education to children in low-income elementary schools throughout the Sacramento City Unified School District to improve health, economy and the environment.
