MoPOP

The Museum of Pop Culture (MoPOP) seeks an intern that can help develop a volunteer-led public building tour. This tour will meet our guest’s desire to learn more about the building designed by world-renowned architect Frank O. Gehry. During the internship, the intern will assess past architectural tours and resources; meet with staff from various departments about the building; develop a sample script; and, time-permitting develop a training program for MoPOP volunteers. The intern will work jointly with the Volunteer Program and Education staff on this exciting initiative.


At the internship’s conclusion, the intern will have developed a tour script for their portfolio while gaining valuable communication, museum interpretation, and program development skills.

Description

The Museum of Pop Culture is dedicated to the exploration of creativity and innovation in popular music. By blending interpretative, interactive exhibitions with cutting-edge technology, MoPOP captures and reflects the essence of rock 'n' roll, its roots in jazz, soul, gospel, country and the blues, as well as rock's influence on hip-hop, punk and other recent genres. Visitors can view rare artifacts and memorabilia and experience the creative process by listening to musicians tell their own stories.
