FAQ:
Q: What is the dress code for the event?
A: This is subject to change. Dress code is formal or dressy cocktail. It's a great chance to get gussied up and look your best. For men, black tie or dark suit is preferred. We do also suggest that you try to wear comfortable shoes since many of you will be standing for long periods of time. Many times fancy shoes though are a killer on your feet, so another suggestion is to get some gel inserts for your shoes. For some of you, you will be provided a wireless radio that may have an earpiece as well. The speaker may need to connect to your clothing with a clip, so you may need to think about that when choosing your evening wear as well. Radios will be provided to all security, communications, and committee chairs. ALL COMMITTEE CHAIRS WILL BE REQUIRED TO BE ACCESSIBLE VIA RADIO FOR THE ENTIRE EVENT.
Q: I don't own an iPad or Tablet, do I need one?
A: No. We rent the iPads for the evening's use and one will be signed out/in for you the night of the event. Training will be provided prior to the event as well.
Q: What if I bought my own ticket for the event?
A: If you purchased a ticket for the event, then you are entitled to have time to spend in the ballroom and enjoy dinner. You will need to check in both as a volunteer and a guest at the event. You will be given a wristband as well for ballroom entrance when you check in. We will also need to be sure that your assigned Committee Chair is aware that you will be spending time in the ballroom so that they can plan accordingly.
Q: Will there be food and drinks provided?
A: We will supply the volunteers with food, snacks, and drinks. Should you have specific dietary needs, you may need to bring your own meal for the evening. While we will try to ensure that everyone is fed and have as much variety as possible, the food for our volunteers is typically donated. You may also grab some appetizers and food served during the cocktail hour as well as drinks. All we ask is that everyone remains respectful of the guests and allow them to be served first.
The typical schedule for the evening is as follows:
Early morning: Set Up (Auction, Equipment, DJ, Band, etc.)
3:30 PM: All Volunteers Check In to Main Office
5:00 PM: Doors Open
6:30 PM: Ballroom Opens
9:30 PM: After Party
