Purpose: To impact the lives of children, teachers, families, and make a difference in communities by focusing on 3rd grade literacy. This is accomplished by encouraging volunteers from local churches to partner with schools in Sylvan Hills to boost reading proficiency.
Goal: Save a child, Save a family, Save a community.
Volunteers will commit to working with the school to promote academic achievement, volunteers are needed to: tutor/coach; help in classroom or library; read to class, clean up grounds, support and encourage teachers with notes/treats; work with community church and create a positive school environment.

Mission Statement
The New Calvary Commission For Community Improvement Inc. (NCCCI) provides structured learning and life-planning resources and activities for residents in the Southwest Atlanta neighborhoods to restore safety and forge the success of individuals and their families.
Description
NCCCI operates Community-Based Programs that include I Am My Brother's keeper for young males, Words of Wisdom (W.O.W.) for elementary youth grades 3rd through 5th grade; Chritian Women's Job Corp. is a free educatioal program for women in the Atlanta community with a financial need to work; GED & Literacy Ministry provides tutoring o adults who are either illiteate, functioning non-readersm ir those who seek to pass the GED test.
