Flex your leadership skills by becoming a volunteer math or science coach for high school students, or adults in higher education!
This tutoring service will provide math or science assistance to local teens and adults, free of charge (single subject proficiency is preferred). The Edenvale Library is looking for experienced, dedicated adult community members to help lead this new activity.
This is a perfect opportunity for those interested in supporting local education, tutoring, and teen mentoring.
Qualifications
- Age 18+
- High degree of initiative and creativity
- Excellent leadership skills
- Proficient in high school level math and/or science subjects, i.e. chemistry, physics, algebra and more
- Ability to develop and work with a team
- Excellent oral communication and written skills
Commitment
- 4-month commitment, 1-2 hours per week.

Description
Public libraries in California seek to engage the talents, skills and commitment of volunteers to serve the communities' information and literacy needs. Libraries offer a variety of skilled volunteer opportunities to make a meaningful contribution to library programs, operations, fundraising events and other community engagement functions. Skilled volunteers have opportunities to lead projects, work with teams of staff and volunteers, learn new skills, and have fun.
