Play a vital role for the Norfolk County Sheriff's Department Senior "Are You Okay" (RUOK) Program !
RUOK is an automated system which allows isolated Senior's to be called every morning to hear that they are doing okay. If a senior does not pick up the phone you take action to make sure they are okay !
Early-Bird Volunteer needed for Saturdays or Sundays 6:30 AM-10:30 AM, and fill in for holidays as well.

Full Training Provided. Easy to Use System. Free Parking and Mileage Reimbursement provided. Options for rotating shifts.

Requirements: Excellent organizational skills, comfort with phone and computer system. Reliability.

Note: This opportunity is only available for individuals age 55 and over.

Norfolk County RSVP has volunteer opportunities for people aged 55 & over in 28 cities and towns at over 50 volunteer sites. Volunteer opportunities include mentoring pre-release inmates, tutoring elementary school children, drivers for Veterans, meals on wheels and food pantires, friendly visiting, non-profit support services and many more! N.C. RSVP will find the volunteer opportunity that best fits your interests & schedule and impacts the needs that are most critical to our county's communities. N.C. RSVP provides mileage reimbursement, accident & liability insurance, an invitation to our annual recognition event, monthly newsletters, orientation & training.
