Position Overview:
The Early Childhood Education intern will work with one of the LASC’s Discovery Educators and Art Education Coordinator to support day-to-day operations of the Living Arts and Science Center’s Pre-K education programs throughout the summer. Duties will vary but may include researching and preparing activities and materials for Pre-K Art Day, leading hands-on art activities and representing the center during events; assisting or teaching in Pre-K classes; and maintaining classroom spaces and supplies; producing class rosters and performing other filing and data-entry tasks; and communicating with teachers, students, parents, and partner organizations. Applicants should be creative problem solvers who are excited about teaching and learning. In addition, they should be organized, flexible, able to work independently and prioritize multiple time sensitive tasks, and good with email, phone, and interpersonal communication. A background in visual arts and/or early education is required. This internship is unpaid.
Qualifications:
* Must be 18 and currently enrolled in a higher education program
* Must pass a simple background check ($30 fee)
* Organized and able to work independently
