Big E Volunteers Needed! Storrowton Village Museum Costumed Tour Guides

Storrowton Village Museum is taking applications for volunteers for The Big E, which takes place Sept. 13-29.

Storrowton volunteers play an essential role in helping the Village share its collections, exhibitions, research and educational programming about 19th century New England with the public. The Village is always on the lookout for dynamic, curious individuals ages 14 and up who want to be a part of the Storrowton team. Each year, more than 100 costumed volunteers donate time at our museum.

Individuals interested in volunteering during the 2019 Big E must apply by August 1. Morning, afternoon and evening shifts will be available to choose from and costumes, parking and admission will be provided for those shifts, along with a 25% discount in The Shops at Storrowton. All Big E volunteers will be required to attend three training sessions, taking place at 1pm or 6pm on August 21, August 28 and September 4.

All Volunteers Must:
- Be able to effectively communicate with the public
- Feel comfortable dressing in costume in a variety of weather conditions
- Commit to a minimum of 6 shifts from 9/13-9/29 (3-4 hours each)
- Attend training
- Be able to climb stairs

Following the Fair, volunteers are invited to continue with us at special monthly events or to help facilitate educational programs. Teen volunteers will be able to earn community service hours and engage with our teen leadership group.
