Just One More Ministry (JOMM) began in 2008 as a small and informal food recovery program founded by Chris Capper working with Meal Outreach Ministry at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Wauwatosa. The food rescue program grew from a humble beginning of rescuing one box of bread and donating it to a central city church, into its current form rescuing and repackaging prepared food, fresh produce, and bakery from numerous Milwaukee suppliers and redistributing it to 13 Greater Milwaukee inner city churches supporting pantries and community meal ministry programs. In 2017, JOMM provided community partners with over 250,000meals and redistributed 750,000 pounds of food. In 2018 we project over 1.5 million pounds of food to be redistributed and need your help!
We are in need of volunteers to cook meat at a site of their choosing (home church etc) for our Family Meals and Community Partner Programs. The meat, utensils and seasoning will be provided, all you have to do is cook the meat with love and we will do the rest!
