Volunteers are needed to help with monthly distributions at Second Harvest Food Bank's Family Harvest sites, particularly at the Los Gatos Recreation Center on the 2nd and 4th Friday of each month. Family Harvest provides food and educational programs to low-income families with minor children. This is a hands-on volunteer activity and does require some lifting and regular movement. Activities could include assisting with room set up, unloading and moving food inside a community room, bagging fresh produce, distributing food to clients, and clean up. This is a great chance for volunteers to interface with our clients.

Note: this is a good job for individuals or groups who can do heavy lifting. Regular volunteers are welcome and needed!

Qualifications:

• Able to lift 20+ lbs. while in motion
• Able to stand in place for 2 hrs.
• Flexible and willing to help where needed
• Welcoming to the families
• Be in good physical health
• Dependable and on time
• Maintain safe working conditions and follow all safety rules
• Professional conduct and responsibility
• Must be 16 years of age or older
• Requirement: must wear closed toe shoes and long pants, no shorts or tank tops
