We are seeking skill-based volunteers for our LifeLink Volunteer Program to share time and knowledge to help our youth attain necessary life skills to heal, learn and grow towards a brighter, self- sufficient future. We welcome volunteers with diverse skills for presentations, workshops, and other activities. Here are just a few examples: Career Counseling, College Counseling, Resume Building, Interview Preparation, Budgeting, Cooking/Baking, Yoga, Exercise, Diet and Nutrition, Arts and Crafts, Photography, Make-Up Application, Meditation, Tutoring.

More specifically, current youth are interested in learning more dance (modern, hip hop, Jersey Club), ceramics, poetry, painting, srapbooking, and jewelry making.

Requirements: You must be willing to work with youth ages 12-21, be at least 25 years old, pass all background checks, and the time commitment can be anywhere from an hour a week to an hour or two every few months.

LifeTies is also seeking mentors to provide one-on-one guidance and direction to youth ages 14-21 for our TILT Mentoring Program. The mentors are specially trained and build caring, nurturing relationships which helps the youth and young adults in developing positive social relationships, career interests, and achieve educational goals. Mentors must spend 4 hours a month with the youth which can include recreational activities in the community. Qualified volunteers will be carefully screened and need to pass all background checks.

LifeTies will provide a volunteer orientation, training, and staff support necessary to work with the youth and young adults.

In addition to individual volunteer opportunities, LifeTies also has one-day group volunteer opportunities for corporate and community groups. One-day projects such as painting, facility maintenance and landscaping are available. Opportunities to get involved with special projects throughout the year are also available, such as donation drives for the holidays.
