Community Based Mentoring
Big Brothers Big Sisters - Pikes Peak
El Paso County, Colorado
Community Based Mentoring: Volunteers are matched with a child (ages 9 to 12) to be a friend and mentor to. The two spend time together doing whatever mutually enjoyable activities they can think of.
We ask that volunteers commit to a minimum of one year, spending time with the same child two to four times a month.
Big Brothers Big Sisters staff members support the mentors and their match relationship by providing advice, suggestions, assistance, counsel and support. Volunteers always have the Big Brothers Big Sisters staff to turn to.
Volunteers must be 21 years of age, have a good driving record, and be able to pass a background check.
This is our traditional program of which Big Brothers Big Sisters (of America) is best and most known for.
Right now, Big Brothers Big Sisters - Pikes Peak (El Paso County CO) is in high need for men to volunteer - we need male mentors to match with Little Brothers. We currently have several young boys in the community who are enrolled and waiting to be matched with a Big Brother.
Please consider volunteering!
PS: Also, Big Brothers Big Sisters Pikes Peak is seeking to serve more military families in our community. Those who serve in the military contribute to the communities of El Paso County tremendously, and we - as an organization - would like to give back, and provide our services to their families. If you know of any military families who could benefit from BBBS programs, please send them our way!
