Help teens in their employment efforts. Each year New Castle County hires approximately 100 youth for the summer months. This an important opportunity for youth to gain valuable skills and funds to help support their families.
Volunteers will assist with the very busy application process. Most are needed to provide a brief interview to potential employees. This is a great way to show support for the ambitious youth in the community.
Volunteers are encouraged to serve one of the positions and shifts stated below:
- Interview help (vol age 21+): 8.30 a.m. to 12 p.m.; 11.30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Setup (vol age 14+): 8.00 a.m. to 9.30 a.m.
- Breakdown (vol age 14+): 2.00 p.m. to 4.30 p.m.
- Assist with general information (vol age 16+): 8.30 a.m. to 12 p.m.; 11.30 a.m. to 3.30 p.m.
No qualification required. Simply be willing to encourage the young job seekers and help make their application experience a positive one.

Garfield Park Community Recreation Center is located at 26 Karlyn Drive, New Castle.
Traveling from Route 13 turn onto Memorial Drive and look for the blue Library signs. Turn right onto Karlyn and follow back to the PAL/Community Recreation Building. Enter the far door (Community Recreation entrance).
