BUSINESS MANAGER --- Experience and Education Preferred // RESUME

  1. Supervising Business Management Team and provide insight to improve efficiency
  2. Weighing company performance against company monthly, quarterly, and yearly objectives
  3. Developing business plans and strategies to align with company forecasts and goals
  4. Implementing recommendations to improve processes and procedures

  6. Maintaining good relationships with Staff Volunteers

  4. Inspect venues to ensure that they meet the client’s requirements
  5. Coordinate event services such as rooms, transportation, and food service
  6. Monitor event activities to ensure that the client and the attendees are satisfied
  7. Review event bills and approve payments

FUNDRAISING MANAGERS --- Experience and Education Preferred // RESUME
  1. Manage progress toward achieving an organization’s fundraising goals
  2. Develop and carry out fundraising strategies
  3. Identify and contact potential donors
  4. Create and plan different events that can generate donations
  5. Meet face-to-face with highly important donors
  6. Apply for grants
  7. Assign, supervise, and review the activities of staff

MARKETING MANAGERS --- Experience and Education Preferred // RESUME
  1. Work with department heads or staff to discuss topics such as budgets and contracts, marketing plans, and the selection of advertising media
  2. Plan promotional campaigns such as contests, coupons, or giveaways
  3. Plan advertising campaigns, including which media to advertise in, such as radio, television, print, online media, and billboards
  4. Negotiate advertising contracts
  5. Evaluate the look and feel of websites used in campaigns or layouts, which are sketches or plans for an advertisement
  6. Initiate market research studies and analyze their findings to understand customer and market opportunities for businesses
  7. Develop pricing strategies for products or services marketed to the target customers
  8. Meet with clients to provide marketing or related advice
  9. Direct the hiring of advertising, promotions, and marketing staff and oversee their daily activities

PUBLIC RELATIONS MANAGERS --- Experience and Education Preferred // RESUME

  3. Identify main client groups and audiences and determine the best way to reach them
  4. Designate an appropriate spokesperson or information source for media inquiries
  5. Help clients communicate effectively with the public

  7. Assist and inform an organization’s executives and spokespeople
  8. Devise advertising and promotion programs
  9. Assign, supervise, and review the activities of staff

In compliance with our General Liability Insurance policy, Youth Protection Training is required for Roots of Scouting Board of Directors, Committee Chairs/Vice-Chairs, BSA Registered Adult Leaders, including all Volunteers having direct contact with children.

Executive Board of Directors and Executive Committee members are considered in "good standing" when they have completed Background Checks and Youth Protection Training every two years!

You do not have to be a registered member of the Boy Scouts of America to take Youth Protection training.

To take Youth Protection training go to and create an account. You'll receive an email notification with your account information, including a member ID/reference number.

From the portal, click Menu then My Dashboard from the menu list. The My Training page displays to take Youth Protection training. Upon completion, you may print a training certificate to submit with a volunteer application. Your training will automatically be updated in our system and associated with the member ID/reference number issued when you created the account.

When your volunteer application is approved, you will receive a BSA membership card that includes your member ID number.
