Gather's open internships: Meals 4 Kids & Meals 4 Seniors!

Gather is seeking 2 individuals for a paid internship now through the end of August or early September to hep with our Meals 4 Kids & Meals 4 Seniors programs.

Internship duties will include but not be limited to:

Meals 4 Kids:

- Updating our local school personnel contacts and spreadsheets (now through March)

- Engaging with the community and local schools to promote Meals 4 Kids summer programs (now through May)

- Meals 4 Kids summer planning and menu preparation (now through May)

- Attending each summer Meals 4 Kids distribution site and overseeing the process each Wednesday and Thursday (each week that school is out of session - typically beginning of June through end of Aug)

Meals 4 Seniors:

- Assisting the assembly of senior orders in our pantry market

- Stocking items in our pantry market as needed

- Helping to organize the weekly orders and make phone calls to our home bound seniors as needed

Ideal candidates will:

- Be self driven and motivated to operate independently and with a group

- Have strong communication and multi tasking skills

- Be highly organized

- Be able to lift 25 lbs and able to stand for long periods of time

- Have a passion for youth, nutrition and hunger relief in the community

- Be able to drive a small/medium sized box truck (must pass a criminal history background check and vehicle background check)

- Be able to commit to 2-4 hours per week now through May, and then starting in June 20-25 hours per week through the end of Aug)

This opportunity is ideal for someone with a flexible schedule, college student or graduate student with summers off or anyone looking to gain more experience in non-profits working with youth to support hunger relief programs! This internship opportunity will pay $8/hour.
