There’s never a dull moment here at Housing Works, between our annual benefits such as Design on a Dime, weekly Thrift Shop sales, and a wide array of events at our beloved Bookstore Cafe - we have a plethora of exciting and unique happenings to keep you busy all year long!
Many of these events need extra support, including our annual Best of Spring sale. Volunteers will have an opportunity to support our staff in set up and clean up, as well as as customers shop our best donations of the season all throughout March!
Almost every one of our eleven thrift shops will be holding a Best of Spring, which means we need tons of volunteers throughout the month! This is a great opportunity for those interested in retail, sales, and fashion merchandising and is a perfect opportunity for groups up to 5 people.

Housing Works is a healing community of people living with and affected by HIV & AIDS. Our goal is to end the dual crises of homelessness and AIDS through relentless advocacy, the provision of lifesaving services, and entrepreneurial businesses that sustain our efforts.
Description
Housing Works is powered by a vibrant community of volunteers who lend their time, dedication, and passion to many different roles within our social enterprise department, Bookstore Cafe, and Thrift Shops.
Individuals and groups of volunteers assist our organization greatly, by coming together to better the communities that they live and work in. Housing Works is pleased to partner with corporations, universities, and community based groups, in the creation and implementation of volunteer projects that benefit homeless men and women living with HIV & AIDS. We are one of New York City’s largest and most successful support services for those in these under served communities, and becoming a part of the Housing Work’s family is an exciting way for companies to give back.
Each project challenges volunteers to develop new skills and engage new people, contributing to a greater sense of camaraderie. We welcome the opportunity to work with corporations to find volunteer opportunities that meet their needs and priorities. Volunteering with Housing Works is a great way for companies to engage employees while demonstrating their commitment to the fight against homelessness and AIDS, and the improvement of the lives of all at-risk New Yorkers.
