Are you looking for a rewarding internship or just looking to make an impact on the youth in your community?WHO ARE WE? Rise Up Community Center is a youth-driven program providing a safe space for youth to discover their strengths and abilities, and to explore opportunities for success through community engagement, active participation, and positive youth development. DETAILS: **VOLUNTEER OR UNPAID INTERNSHIP** 280 E Main Street #100, Westminster MD 21157 Hours of Operation: Monday-Friday, 12-8pm Minimum commitment: 2-40 hours per week Available Shifts: M-F, 12-8pm
BENEFITS OF WORKING AT RISE UP
- Training in Restorative Practices including Restorative Circles, Restorative Conferencing, and Restorative Justice.
- Restorative Youth Empowerment training through inPOWER, Inc. (approach based on Restorative Practices and Positive Youth Development)
- inPOWER Restorative Youth Development Facilitator Certificate after 40 hours.
- Advanced Facilitator Certificate after 120 hours.
- Gain experience working with struggling youth referred through Carroll County Public School's, Department of Juvenile Services, and community mental health/human services agencies.

- Conduct risk-needs assessments
- Enter data into data system

- Assist youth in setting goals and creating a plan of achievement.

- Support development of employability skills, enhancement of academic skills, group participation, and community engagement.
- Lead Restorative Circles and Restorative Conferencing
- Lead various one-on-one and group activities
- Accompany youth to various independent community activities such as job shadowing, interviews, training, counseling, etc.

- Lead various one-on-one and group activities
- Supervise youth while out in the community
- Assist youth in setting goals and creating a plan of achievement.
- Promote healthy and positive choices
- Support development of employability skills, enhancement of academic skills, group participation, and community engagement.
- Assist with data collection and research
- Assist in grant writing and research, fundraising, events, and donor aquisition.
- Contribute to social media and marketing campaigns.
- Clean driving record
- Reliable transportation
- Willingness transport youth in personal vehicle to various activities
- Minimum of $100k Personal Injury Coverage
- Must be 18 or older with a valid ID
- Must be able to pass CJIS criminal background check
- Familiarity with risk and needs assessments
- Experience working with struggling youth preferred but not required.
- Skills in team building
- Motivated Self-Starter
- Ability to collaborate with others
- Engaging, positive and energetic personality
- Bilingual - Spanish, ASL
