Spring Break Camp 2018

Monday March 26-Wednesday March 28
8:30am-3:30pm

LifeBridge camps are for youth with physical and/or intellectual disabilities who are currently enrolled in LifeBridge services. Spring Break Camp will be a field trip style program with the location being at a different venue each day. Ideally volunteers are able to attend all 3 days so that the assigned teams stay consistant for the kids. However, if you have a strong desire to volunteer and are unable to attend all 3 days, just complete the application with the days/hours with which you are available and we will do our best to accommodate.

Volunteers will be responsible for getting to and from the venue, will need to dress comfortable and for the weather and should bring a sack lunch each day to camp.

Mission Statement

Empowering people with disabilities to develop skills for independence and to actively participate in the community.

Description

The word "bridge" is defined as a structure or path crossing over a physical obstacle or barrier. Bridges also provide a connection from one place to another. Conceptually, a bridge creates connections that help cross over or overcome life’s obstacles. It’s in this sense that we are a structure, a connection, a "LifeBridge" for participants throughout their lives.

The word "partnership" is inclusive and welcoming with a promise that "We are in this together!" Partnership illustrates the idea of a larger group dynamic at work. It also promotes equality by emphasizing abilities and relationships that are connected on equal footing.
