Do you know how to sew? We are looking for a volunteer who knows how to sew and would like to share their time and talents with our hospice patients. Graceland Hospice Care is actively recruiting for volunteers who are interested in making pillows to honor our Veteran patients and making memory pillows/bears out of the clothing of our deceased patients. The memory bear/pillow will be a gift to the family after the patient’s passing. The memory bear/pillow is typically made out of the patient’s clothing and can be a gift to their spouse, children, or grandchildren. We would love to be able to offer volunteer made quilts if that is of interest to you. If you have any questions or are interested in learning more about how you can share your time and talents with Graceland Hospice Care, please reach out to us. Please note that Graceland Hospice Care will provide the fabric, stuffing/pillow form, and patterns as appropriate. This service will be done at your own home, at your convenience. We appreciate your generosity in terms of your machine, time, and talents.
