Homeless Services Network is currently looking for volunteers who can help translate for our HUBs. The volunteer does not have to be physically at the HUBs, but they do have to be available over the phone. HUBs are our offsite locations where homeless families and individuals can come in to complete an intake assessment.

All forms involved in the assessment are available in Spanish. The volunteer will read and explain the forms to the homeless and help the visitors complete them. The volunteer must also be able to provide off-script translation to help the HUB volunteer and visitor communicate.


  • Provide translation for both HUB volunteer and visitor
  • Complete assessments over the phone for folks seeking housing assistance in Spanish
  • Determine if there are eligible programs that may be able to assist the individual or family
  • Listen to the needs of the homeless visitor


  • Fluent in both English and Spanish
  • Must be available for at least one HUB shift:
    • Monday: 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm
    • Tuesdays: 10:00 am to 1:00 pm
    • Fridays: 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm
  • Must have a phone
  • Attend orientation/training
