Description

CRR is a multi-service United Way agency established in 1945 by B’nai B’rith as the Jewish Vocational Guidance Services. We provide workforce development, general education, counseling, case management, and job readiness services to the multi-faceted, and in many cases indigent, populations that we serve. Our agency offers a variety of employment-related support services such as enrichment classes including GED exam preparation and American Sign Language for persons who are deaf or hearing-impaired. We aim to help elevate low-income workers to livable wages, self-sufficiency and a better quality of life. Additionally, we provide adult outpatient substance abuse treatment and aftercare, and HIV/STD/HepC testing, risk reduction counseling, and medical referrals.

We educate clients on job-related soft skills to be used in acquiring and maintaining a job. Additionally, we partner with vocational schools and community colleges to help educate our clients while providing them a skill, trade, or an opportunity to obtain higher educational opportunities. The majority of our clientele are persons disadvantaged by homelessness, disabilities, older age, ex-offender status, returning veteran status, substance abuse disorder, and other significant barriers. CRR leaders and staff see job placement as the most creative and permanent way for individuals to remain intact and to stay away from a cycle of poverty for themselves and their families.
