Meals on Wheels People has received funding from the Portland Children’s Levy to offer the Meals 4 Kids program, home delivery of culturally-appropriate, nutritious dinners to families in need.
Children ages 0-18 and their caregivers who live in the City of Portland are eligible to receive services if the family income is 185% of the federal poverty level or lower. The Meals 4 Kids program serves qualified children and families within the City of Portland while also prioritizing serving low-income families of color living primarily in East and North Portland experiencing low food security who are also experiencing any of the following:
- Chronic condition or illness of caregiver or child
- Lack of facility to prepare meals
- Lack of ability to access food resources such as food pantries
- Other barriers impacting access to food resources and/or ability to prepare meals
We are currently recruiting Meal Delivery Drivers for the Meals 4 Kids Program! Monday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday morning/afternoon deliveries are available.

The vision of Meals on Wheels People is that no senior will go hungry or experience social isolation. We enrich the lives of seniors and assist them in maintaining their independence by making nutritious food, social contacts and other resources easily available. Our organization is community based, emphasizes volunteer involvement and is financially sound.
Description
Meals on Wheels People is a nonprofit, secular organization that has provided seniors with hot meals and opportunities for health, hope and friendship since 1970. Each year more than 7,500 volunteers prepare and deliver 1.3 million meals to seniors in the Portland-Vancouver metro area. The loyal support of our volunteers combined with the generous financial contributions of our donors keeps the vision of Meals on Wheels Centers alive.
