ORGANIZATION: Satellite Affordable Housing Associates

Many of SAHA's seniors living in affordable housing want to learn how to use their digital devices to browse the internet, use Zoom to communicate with their friends and family. Help teach them how to operate and navigate their device (a computer, a tablet and/or a smartphone) remotely over the phone. You must have access to Google Voice for this volunteer opportunity.

Ability to speak another language (such as, Spanish and Chinese) is a plus!

Requirements: Ongoing SAHA Community Volunteers must commit to volunteer once a week(or two times a month) for a minimum of 4 months, and must complete a volunteer orientation, volunteer forms and background screening prior to beginning their placement.

Description

The purpose of the SAHA's Volunteer Program is to improve the quality of living and promote health and well-being for Satellite Housing's residents. Volunteers will help foster community by facilitating activities for the residents, such as exercise groups, art classes, discussion groups, providing health and wellness information, leading or participating in games, assisting with special events, etc. The residents really appreciate the effort that is put forth by the volunteers, and look forward to the weekly interactions.
