ORGANIZATION: Archway Communities

  • 2 people are interested

Archway Housing and Services Inc. is a non-profit organization that builds and manages affordable housing communities for low-income families. We also offer free, on-site social services to our residents, including youth programing, food bank services, and adult education classes.

Our property in East Denver (Parker Rd and Mississippi Ave) is currently looking for an Adult Zumba Teacher to come to our community center and teacher around 5 women 1 x a week. This low-income community is composed of many immigrants and refugees, so the volunteer will need to be willing to work with ladies from other cultures. The community center is open Monday - Friday 10 am - 3:30 pm so the volunteer will need to teach during the day.

Archway is a wonderful organization serving the most needy in our community. Please consider donating your time and talent to helping refugees become happier and healthier through Zumba! Thank you for your consideration.

Mission Statement

Archway Communities elevates lives by providing access to affordable housing, food security and the supportive social services people need to thrive.

Description

Archway Communities was founded with the belief that affordable housing is a crucial element in building healthy communities. In pursuit of that belief, we seek opportunities to purchase vacant land for new construction or renovate obsolete multifamily developments. Shortly after we were founded, we began to recognize that residents need more than affordable housing to stabilize their lives - many were struggling with challenges like food insecurity, recovering from chronic homelessness, unemployment, single parenting, obtaining citizenship, and others. Archway Communities instituted the Supportive Services Program- resident focused, on-site programming- to address the needs of those living in our communities beyond simply providing a roof over their heads.
