Compassionate Care Hospice is looking for caring and dependable volunteers to provide non medical care to patients by providing companionship, emotional support, and respite care. Our patients are located in their own homes as well as at several nursing facilities. We are currently in need of volunteers in Lexington, Richland, and Kershaw counties. Compassionate Care Hospice has defined as it's mission to affirm life during it's final stages by providing holistic compassionate care to patients and their families; by providing access to hospice care for underserved or difficult to serve populations; by wise and efficient use of available resources, and by educating the community in order to provide them with knowledge regarding end- of- life and hospice care around quality of life.
Description
How does a volunteer support hospice? By providing respite to family. You can help by reading, playing cards, sewing, and simply being a friendly visitor to a patient. Office and administrative volunteers are also needed to provide additional support to the office.
