Rescue. Restore. Bring Justice

Sex Trafficking is an ever growing issue in modern society, but many are left wondering What can I do?

At Shared Hope International, we believe every life is worth living and that everyone has a role to play. We want to end the sexual slavery of America's youth through prevention education, partnering with restorative homes, and providing legislative and policy initiatives designed to protect victims and harshen penalties for buyers and pimps.

But we need help. Your help.

You don't have to be a super hero, you don't need to study the issue and be an 'expert,' and you don't even need to be in front of a crowd (unless you want to!) because the 'little things' that need to be done are critical to completing our mission, and we need you to help us because we can't do it on our own.

So here's how you can help:

-Data Entry One of our biggest struggles is keeping up with our data entry. The integrity of our database is important for communicating with supporters, other organizations, and our volunteers out making presentations for prevention education. Without our in office volunteers, we aren't able to record all the things we need to and won't have accurate information for communications. From recording our Ambassador's events to entering notes to our contacts, we have data entry projects for every skill level, so don't let that computer intimidate you!
-Research and Special Projects From time to time, the amazing people on our Growth Strategies team need help researching ways to reach out to more people for fundraising or spreading our message. Good research takes time, and as a small staff we often don't have that time, but it desperately needs to be done.
-Donor Correspondence Our staff recognizes the value of our incredible supporters and want to do our best to thank them for their generosity through thank yous, whether that's a card or a phone call. We are continually writing cards and have annual phone call campaigns. Think you don't like phone calls? You'd be surprised at how many of our volunteers that hate phones love making calls - that's how great and encouraging our supporters are!

About Shared Hope International

Location:

Mission Statement

Shared Hope International strives to prevent the conditions that foster sex trafficking, restore victims of sex slavery, and bring justice to vulnerable women and children. We envision a world passionately opposed to sex trafficking and a community committed to restoring survivors to lives of purpose, value and choice - one life at a time.

Description

Shared Hope International was established to provide hope to the hopeless women Washington State Congresswoman Linda Smith found enslaved in the brothels of Mumbai in 1998. Our early efforts targeted the international sex trafficking industry. As we became established leaders in the international movement to end slavery, our eyes were opened to the scourge of sex trafficking in the U.S. We could not ignore this injustice and expanded our impact to bring hope to American women and children victimized in the commercial sex industry. Today, we lead prevention strategies, restoration programs and justice initiatives to combat trafficking in the U.S. and abroad.

Our vision is to coordinate a national U.S. network of protection to improve the response to victims of trafficking. We believe we can create a world where every survivor is surrounded by trained professionals, an alert community, just law and policy, knowledgeable service providers and appropriate shelter options.
