Paw Pal

VITAS invites friendly and well behaved pets to join the Paw Pals program, in which animals and their humans visit patients in end of life care.

A VITAS Paw Pal volunteer can offer comfort, bring back memories, encourage activity and provide unconditional love to hospice patients and caregivers.

Paw Pals must be well- groomed, at least one year old, have up-to-date vaccinations and be able to follow simple behavioral commands.

Volunteers are the heart of VITAS Healthcare, providing friendly, non-medical patient and family care and offering support services in the office, using their cars and from their own homes.
