Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery and Delaware Counties is inviting YOU to join us May 9th through 12th for National Women Build Week! This will be a great opportunity to work side-by-side with POWERFUL women, learn HANDS ON construction skills, and EMPOWER our Habitat families.

https://habitatmontdelco.salsalabs.org/nationalwomenbuildweek/index.html 70% of Habitat home buyers are single mothers. Though our neighborhoods are comprised largely of women and children, they are also the population’s most likely to be affected by poor living conditions. Our Women Build events provide the opportunity for women to take a proactive step in serving their communities. This is why Women Build Weekend is so important - women must build up and strengthen other women.

We do ask that all participants fundraise $250 (with the help of Habitat), for it is important to not only build with women, but fund the programs that work to benefit them. Our vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Our mission is to bring people together to build homes, communities, and hope. You can be a part of this.

Mission Statement

We bring people together to build homes, communities and hope. We envision a world in which everyone has a decent place to live.

Description

Habitat MontDelco offers affordable home mortgages to qualified and hardworking families throughout Montgomery and Delaware Counties. Habitat builds, rehabilitates, and sells decent, affordable houses alongside qualified home-buyers from their first inquiry to settlement and beyond. Habitat houses are not given away; they are sold to partner families at no profit and with a low-interest mortgage. Each Partner Family must complete up to 200 hours of "sweat equity." This includes construction work on homes and financial literacy classes and working in one of our ReStores or in the office. Sweat equity hours must be completed before purchasing a home. All homebuyers are required to attend our Almost Home program of 40 classroom hours and one-on-one time with a financial coach. This program teaches crucial financial literacy skills to ensure that families can afford their mortgages and weather future financial challenges.
