In honor of Women’s History Month, The Mission Continues' Lowell 1st Service Platoon is hosting a service day led by women with Mill City Grows. We are looking for awesome women --and men-- to join us for this event.

We will be assisting Mill City Grows with building garden beds for their community gardens. Because power tools will be in use, this event is for ages 10+. Experience with power tools would be greatly appreciated.

Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

* Creates Urban Farms where their team grows thousands of pounds of food that are distributed throughout each of Lowell’s neighborhoods
* Partners with Lowell Public Schools to install gardens and provide garden and nutrition education through their School Garden Program
* Trains gardeners in hands on urban agriculture and community leadership through their Educational Programs
* Increases Access to Local Food with their Mobile Market

Mission Statement

We are on a mission to connect veterans with under-resourced communities: empowering veterans to continue their service, while empowering communities with the talent, skills and preparedness of veterans to generate visible impact.

Description

The Mission Continues is a national, nonpartisan nonprofit that empowers veterans to continue their service, and empowers communities with veteran talent, skills and preparedness to generate visible impact.

Veterans possess the drive and desire to serve others, but without access to the tools needed, their potential to make meaningful impact at the local level remains untapped. On the other end of the spectrum growing numbers of communities in this country are under-resourced and being left behind.

At The Mission Continues, we’re on a mission to connect veterans with under-resourced communities.

Our programs in cities across the country deploy veteran volunteers alongside nonprofit partners and community leaders to improve educational resources, increase access to parks and green spaces, foster neighborhood identity, and more.

Our vision is for all veterans with a desire to continue their service to be part of a movement to transform communities.
