The Companion program at Forbes Hospital is to provide comfort to a patient that is in need of companionship because they are lonely, scared during their hospital stay OR sitting vigil during their final hours.
This is an on-call volunteer position. Volunteers don't have contact with isolation or COVID-19 patients.
We offer extensive training to give you the support you need to be a Companion.
We ask that you be able to:
Complete a volunteer application.
Complete a background check
Adhere to the policies and procedures of Forbes Hospital
Ability to commit to a three hour shift when the need arises if you are available
