Adult Volunteers Needed to work with youth ages 6 thru 14 (Youth Tennis Program)

We are members of the United States Tennis Association and we are register as a Member Organization.
We also registered as a Community provider of the (USTA) new initiative Net Generation. All volunteers must become (USTA) members and will received a short on line training course that explains the youth program. Once they complete the on line training they will have to pass a background screening before they can volunteer in our year-round tennis programs. We are looking for Men and Women who like tennis but also
enjoy working with young people ages 6 thru 18. There are opportunities for some volunteers who have flexible
hours to work in our after school tennis programs. We provide all the equipment but volunteers will be ask
to collect and store equipment once the sessions are completed. We get tickets to a variety of professional
events and we will donate tickets to volunteer staff and there are opportunities to volunteers at (USTA) professional events.

The Brooklyn Youth Tennis Association, Inc. (BYTA) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing quality free/and or low-cost tennis instruction to culturally diverse, urban youth as a tool that supports and enhances their personal growth, physical health and academic achievement. Structured tennis instruction is an excellent vehicle for building character developing discipline, and promoting physical fitness and mental alertness, therefore (BYTA) seeks to build upon these aspects of tennis in order to help youth develop into well rounded adults who are socially responsible and engaged citizens.

Description

BYTA uses tennis as a framework to help students develop life-skills they can utilize as they advance in school and their careers. While delivering quality tennis instruction is our primary mission, BYTA has developed programs and
strategies designed to instill in our students self-worth, self-discipline, responsibility and goal setting.
