We're starting a HEALTH CO-OP to serve Pennsylvanians who are un-insured and under-insured. Based on the successful Ithaca Health Alliance http://ithacahealth.org a health plan which covered members for 12 categories of common emergencies for $100/YEAR. We built our own free clinic. The plan was approved by the NYS Insurance Department, Health Department, local hospital, county legislature. As we prove successful on this broader scale, we expect to replicate nationwide to provide health security that is affordable, democratic and humane.
