Casey's Circle host parent training meetings, Tuesday Talks, on the third Tuesday of each month (currently cut back to even months only, but will hopefully return to monthly). We provide dinner as well as child care. We need volunteers to help us provide child care during these meetings.
Meetings occur all over the greater Austin area (we go to the presenter typically). Most of the children are healthy siblings, however there is a good chance that children with special needs will need child care at these events as well. You do not have to be a fully licensed RN, but you do need to be comfortable around children with medical issues (physical, mental, etc). You will NOT be feeding, diapering, or providing any skilled medical care.
Parents will be in the facility (usually in another room, but very close). You will be expected to play with and entertain the kids for 30-45 minutes while their parents listen to a presentation.
This is a great opportunity for nursing student, therapy students, or other professionals looking to work with special needs kids to get some experience as well as some community service hours to add to your resumes.
Plan to arrive 10-15 minutes prior to families (5:45PM) and stay at least until 7:30, possibly as late as 8PM.

Mission Statement
Casey’s Circle is a nonprofit dedicated to helping families of children with special needs find ways for their kids to be kids first - patients later. This is done by providing tools, education, resources and opportunities to help improve the quality of life for medically complex children, their families and their providers, while also strengthening their circle of care.
Description
Casey's Circle hosts fun events throughout the year for families of children with special needs. All events are designed around the needs of the most complex- while still being a ton of fun for EVERYONE! Casey's Circle also host parent trainings, bereavement support and events to honor children that have passed, as well as a variety of online tools and resources. Our goal is to make life easier for medically complex families so that they have more time to focus on being a family and making memories.
