The 500 Festival Mini-Marathon Expo is where all the participants pick up their race information. We have vendors in the Convention Center where the Expo is for the participants and visitors to visit after picking up their packet. Volunteers help in many ways to make sure the event is running smoothly.
Mini-Marathon Expo Packet Pick up
Dates: May 2nd, 2019 and May 3rd, 2019
Time: May 2nd (3:30 pm - 9:30 pm) and May 3rd (9:30 am -1:30 pm), (1:00 pm - 5:30 pm), and (5:00 pm - 9:30 pm)
Opportunity: As a volunteer for the Packet Pick-Up at the expo you will be checking the ID’s of the participants and giving them their packets. You will work alongside 80 other people to make this process run smoothly and make sure everyone has their packets!
Mini-Marathon Expo Floater
Dates: May 2nd, 2019 and May 3rd, 2019
Time: May 2nd (3:30 pm - 9:30p and May 3rd (9:30 am -1:30 pm), (1:30 pm - 5:30 pm), (5:00 pm - 9:30 pm)
Opportunity: As a floater for the expo you will fill in as needed. This includes possibly helping with t-shirt exchange, helping at different locations that need one or two volunteers, or as a Beer ID Checker. All volunteer positions are very important, so if you just want to help out this is a great option for you!

The mission of the 500 Festival is to advocate and celebrate the spirit, heritage and legacy of the Indianapolis 500. Through social, cultural and educational events and programs, the 500 Festival enhances the quality of life for all citizens of our communities.
Description
No other singular sporting event in the world has a legacy like the Indianapolis 500. No other event has shaped and defined a city and state and their people like the Indianapolis 500.
The 500 Festival, a not-for-profit volunteer organization, was created in 1957 to organize civic events celebrating the greatest race in the world. Over the past 49 years, the 500 Festival has grown to become one of the largest festivals in the nation.
Last year, nearly 500,000 Hoosiers and visitors participated in festival activities throughout the month of May. Whether they were athletes running the Mini, fourth grade students participating in the Education Program, families enjoying the state's largest festival for kids, or spectators being dazzled by one of the nation's premier parades, they were there, celebrating the legacy.
