Bike MS Escape to the Lake 2018 Volunteers Needed!!!!

ORGANIZATION: National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Pennsylvania

Volunteering is something that is not only rewarding...it's fun! We are currently recruiting for our two day bike event that begins at Moraine State Park, Portersville, PA on Saturday, June 9th and ends at Lake Erie in Conneaut, OH on Sunday, June 10th.

Start/Finish:

  • Day 1: Start Location - Moraine State Park, Portersville, PA
    Finish Location - Allegheny College, Meadville, PA
  • Day 2: Start Location - Allegheny College, Meadville, PA
    Finish Location - Lake Erie, Conneaut, OH

Registration: We are looking for friendly volunteers to welcome cyclist, get them checked in, and provide them instructions.

Rest Stop Support: This is ideal for groups or families to do together. Man a rest stop for the cyclist, assist with the set up and breakdown of the rest stop, (popup tents, tables, water, snacks, Gatorade, and ice), check on the riders that stop, keep them hydrated and fed, and cheer on cyclist as they stop in or drive by.

Massage Therapists - Alleghany College: Certified massage therapists are needed to help cyclists post ride.

Bike Storage - Alleghany College: Help direct cyclists to where their bicycles can be placed and oversee the location so that bikes remain secure and supervised.

Beer Garden - Alleghany College: In need of volunteers to help check I.D.’s to enter the designated beer garden area and affix wristbands to those 21 years of age or older. Also support with clean up of the beer garden area.

MEDICAL: We are looking for first-aid and CPR-certified medical volunteers (nurses, EMT’s, doctors, and other medical personnel) who are willing to serve at rest stops, lunch, the finish line, and at the overnight location--Allegheny College. First Aid Certification is required and needs to be provided.
