Seeking Health Care Professional, Mental Health Clinician, and/or Human Rights Advocates for our Human Rights Committee

Mission Statement

The Arc of Plymouth and Upper Cape Cod empowers and supports people with disabilities to belong, contribute, and thrive.

Description

The Arc of Plymouth and Upper Cape Cod is a nonprofit agency founded in 1966, that provides services and supports to over 550 individuals with developmental disabilities and their families in Southeastern Massachusetts. Our mission is to support people to live where they choose, with whom they choose, for as long as they wish with the ongoing supports needed to sustain that choice. We understand that as people who grow and change their support needs may change as well. Our supports offer as much choice and control as possible to accommodate people's changing needs and preferences. Our mission is to provide individualized supports, programs, and services to assist individuals to thrive at home, at work, and in their communities

Seeking a Licensed Health Care Professional or Mental Health Clinician for our Human Rights Committee

According to the Department of Developmental Services regulations, service provider agencies, such as The Arc , shall have a Human Rights Committee that meets regularly to review and discuss the agency's efforts to affirm, promote and protect the human rights of each individual it supports.

The Arc of Plymouth and Upper Cape Cod is looking for a Licensed Health Care Professional or Mental Health Clinician volunteer(s) on our Human Rights Committee. Preferred personal or professional experience in the field of Intellectual Disability and Developmental Disability. The commitment would be quarterly, for roughly two hours at a time. Training and ongoing support is provided by the Arc's Human Rights Coordinator. We are fortunate to have a committed group of volunteers who are passionate about advocating for the human rights of those we support and would be grateful to have you on board!
Please contact Amanda Peters, amandap@plymouthcapearc.org if you are interested in learning more about this opportunity!
