Teenage Mother

According to our study in eastern uganda, nearly 3 in every 10 teenage girls of between 12 and 18 years are having babies. In most cases these are normally school going ages either in primary or secondary school levels, who as a result of the unwanted pregnancies are forced to drop out of school. Through this centre we will increase the chances of academic success and economic sustainability for Ugandan teenage girls by providing them the necessary skills and information. The community has already provided 2 acres of land to build the centre, and a Dutch charity has also offered 50% of the required amount. We therefore need to raise the remaining amount in order to make a difference in the lives of these teenage mothers. Together with your expertise, guidance and support we can make this happen.

We need online volunteers to support us with the following tasks: * develop a fundraising strategy, * share innovative fundraising ideas, * research potential donor organizations and funding opportunities * help draft letters and correspondence, * advise on how to approach donors. Previous records on doing the same will be an added advantage. Volunteers will not submit funding themselves nor will they submit any funding proposals on our behalf.

The selected volunteer will have support & guidance from The Umbrella of Hope Foundation team in both Uganda and Netherlands. The project team will provide project related information including the following: Project content, Project images, Project data. Regular Skype calls will be done to communicate with the volunteer. The online volunteer will receive feedback on each step of the work until the final approval is made.
