giveNkind is a web hub that allows nonprofits to post their wish lists items and allows donors to post items they have to give. The two connect on our site giving nonprofits the items they needed and donors a place to repurpose their items for great causes.

We have built our own site from scratch using MYSQL, Tomcat, and Spring Hibernate but our front end needs much work. We would like to use wordpress open source software to create a new front end for our static pages such as our landing page, about us page, FAQ, etc. You can view our current site at givenkind.org. We then need to connect our login portal and the data behind it to the new front end.

We are looking for help programming, doing UX, or even just advising us on the project. We have some great public exposure events and would love for the site's look and feel to match our energy and excitement for helping other organizations.

GiveNKind is a resource rescue and redistribution nonprofit that provides millions of dollars of essential products donated by national companies to Chicagoland charities. Our programs place resources directly into communities that need them most and keep usable goods that otherwise may have been disposed of from ending up in local landfills. GiveNKind is open to 501(3)(c) charitable nonprofits. We are not open to the public.

Volunteers are vital to our efforts to transform surplus goods into community resources. Please sign up for volunteer opportunities at https://givenkind.org/signup/. Volunteer sessions are available Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
